Role Purpose
As the Insights and Analytics Manager, you will be pivotal in driving sales performance and providing actionable insights to enhance our retail operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retail sales, data analysis, financial metrics, and consumer insights, with a passion for the hospitality industry.
Accountabilities
Sales Performance:
Monitor, analyse, and report on financial sales performance metrics across all pubs, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
Identify, develop, and review sales and promotional strategies to achieve revenue targets.
Collaborate with others to develop tools and dashboards for deeper understanding across all teams.
Engage with regional managers and marketing teams to drive sales initiatives and promotions.
Data Analysis:
Utilise statistical data analytics tools to track and report on core financial and guest key performance indicators (KPIs).
Build models, validate hypotheses, and assess sales and promotional performance.
Deliver compelling visual insights and commercial recommendations to senior management.
Ensure data integrity and accuracy in all reporting.
Guest and Market Insights:
Gather and analyse customer data to understand behaviours and trends.
Identify opportunities, set targets for growth, and evaluate performance.
Provide actionable insights to improve customer experience and loyalty.
Analyse competitor and market data to stay ahead of industry trends and competitor activities.
5 Star Excellence:
Own the 5-star metrics, setting targets and modelling the impact of changes.
Track and report against performance, identifying opportunities for improvement.
Work closely with stakeholders from marketing, operations, and finance teams to align strategies and objectives.
Support the development of training programs to enhance sales and customer centricity.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

Person Specification - Technical Competencies / Professional expertise
Proficiency in statistical analysis and data visualisation tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI).
Ability to build and validate predictive models and hypotheses.
Strong analytical skills to interpret complex data sets and derive actionable insights.
Understanding of key financial performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to retail and hospitality.
Experience in monitoring and reporting on sales performance metrics.
Ability to develop and review sales and promotional strategies based on financial data.
Ensuring the accuracy and reliability of data in all reporting.
Experience with data cleaning, validation, and quality assurance processes.
Ability to gather, Analyse, and interpret customer data to understand behaviours and trends.
Experience in conducting market research and competitor analysis.
Skills in identifying opportunities for growth and setting performance targets.
Experience in developing and maintaining dashboards and analytical tools for various teams.
Proficiency in using software to create interactive and user-friendly dashboards.
Strong background in retail sales, preferably within the hospitality industry.
Understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities in the pub and restaurant sector.
Excellent communication skills to present data and insights clearly and compellingly.
Ability to convert complex data into actionable recommendations for senior management.
Experience working collaboratively with operations managers, marketing teams, and other stakeholders.
Ability to engage and influence cross-functional teams to drive sales initiatives.
Strong strategic thinking skills to align data insights with business objectives.
Ability to develop long-term strategies based on data-driven insights.
