Job Description
About the role
The Regulation Directorate designs and implements the OfS’s regulatory framework, overseeing higher education providers. You will work on several projects across the directorate, gaining broad experience. Responsibilities may include:
* Managing provider applications for registration, degree awarding powers, and university titles
* Monitoring and investigating provider compliance with registration conditions
* Conducting quality and standards assessments and contributing to policy reforms
* Leading work on financial sustainability, market exit, and student protection
* Delivering funded programmes and initiatives
* Improving internal systems supporting provider services
Person Specification
We value critical thinking, clear communication, and collaboration. Prior regulation experience is not required; full training will be provided. Key skills include:
* Leading and managing teams, supporting wellbeing and performance
* Understanding and applying the regulatory framework
* Making robust judgments based on complex information
* Working effectively in complex and ambiguous environments
* Collaborating and managing projects within a matrix structure
* Communicating policies clearly and producing professional documentation
