Community Phlebotomist

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, enthusiastic Trained Phlebotomist, to work with the Community Nursing Teams in the Erewash locality.
We are a small and friendly team sitting within the larger Community Nursing teams. The post base will be at the Long Eaton Health Centre or Ilkeston Hospital TBC but covers the whole Erewash locality with work planned geographically.
Working days can be flexible and will be discussed on interview. This post does not require to work any weekends.
Ability to travel between any site where DCHS services are provided is essential for this post.
Main duties of the job
Our team focusses on providing excellent patient-centred care to people within their own homes, therefore, it is essential that you have a keen interest and experience in this field.
The successful candidate will also have the ability to work as part of a team as well as on their own and be flexible.
If you can demonstrate good communication skills, have the ability to plan and organise competent, evidence-based, clinical care delivery - we want to hear from you!

Our purpose is to provide community health services to a patient population of over one million people in Derbyshire and Derby, as part of Joined Up Care Derbyshire.
We employ around 4,200 substantive staff, caring for patients in 11 community hospitals and more than 30 health centres, as well as in clinics, GP practices, schools, care homes and predominately for this role in people's own homes.
During the pandemic response we have led the implementation of public vaccination centres in collaboration with partners across health and social care.

Person Specification
Education, Qualifications and Training
* GCSE English Level C/Level 4 or above (or equivalent)
* NVQ 2 Health/Social Care
Experience and Knowledge Required
* Worked in a healthcare setting
* Willing to undertake the Care Certificate
* Venepuncture trained
* Experience working in community setting
* IT experience - examples of systems used
* Willingness to learn to use System 1 EPR
* previous use of electronic patient records
Skills and Attributes
* Able to work on own initiative or as part of a team
* Ability to organise and prioritise
* Good verbal and written communication skills
