Day Shift Manager
Location: Northfleet Plant, Kent, UK

In this role you will have the exciting opportunity to drive the next chapter of product innovation for some of the key categories in the IFP tissue business – by bringing together your amazing passion for understanding consumers, pioneering new technologies, translating new ideas & insights into winning product propositions to meet and exceed the business needs. You will also have a fantastic opportunity to partner with some of the key stakeholders in the R&D, Growth and Supply Chain teams and play an active role in influencing the IFP strategy.
As part of the Day Team, the Day Shift Manager acts as the conduit between Shift and Day teams, reporting directly to the Operations Manager. This role takes ownership of setting and aligning operational standards across five shifts, working collaboratively with Shift Managers, Asset Leaders, and support functions. The Day Shift Manager connects with the shift operations team to deliver consistency of operation, driving high-quality and efficient performance across all metrics. The role is accountable for embedding a culture focused on people, safety, and quality through coaching, behaviours, and adherence to standard processes. It is pivotal driving continuous improvement and ensuring alignment with site-wide goals
In this role, your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
1. Strong People leader and at ease to connect and influence teams on various levels on shift, days or the business. Comfortable to have difficult conversations for behaviours in response to performance issues or alignment within teams
2. Driven to play to win and move fast to actively avert or resolve shift issues using problem solving if required for longer-term opportunities working across asset and functional areas
3. An ability to harness a team environment and develop/coach for a high performing team and influence members in the team to achieve overall business aims.
4. Engaging and leading collaborative data driven problem solving
5. Generating innovative solutions; trying different and novel ways of working
6. Ensuring that the customer and consumer perspective (internal, external and/ or consumer) is a driving force behind Shift and long-term decisions and activities; implementing shift practices that meet customers’ and our organisation’s needs.

7. 3-5 years’ experience in a FMCG, People Lead position or a similar role which shows leadership experience.
8. Preferable experience in a Shift role and knowledge of industry and safety standards.
9. Leadership Qualification desirable
