We’re looking for a motivated and detail‑oriented Apprentice to join our busy Finance team. As an apprentice you will study towards a Level 2 & 3 Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship, whilst gaining experience as a Finance Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity to earn while you learn, develop core financial skills, and gain hands‑on experience supporting a wide range of finance processes. You’ll work alongside experienced colleagues, receive full training, and play an important role in ensuring the smooth running of our financial operations.
What you’ll be doing:
* Maintaining accurate financial records and filing
* Supporting month‑end activities, including posting journals and general ledger accuracy checks
* Managing shared finance mailboxes
* Carrying out finance system administration tasks
* Producing regular and ad‑hoc financial reports
* Processing purchase card orders
* Handling staff expense claims
* Managing supplier accounts, including setting up new suppliers
* Providing wider administrative support across the Finance function
* Ensuring all finance processes and internal controls are followed
* Supporting internal and external audit requirements
* Liaising with internal and external stakeholders
What we’re looking for:
* A minimum of 3 A Levels or a Level 3 qualification (e.g. BTEC Diploma).
* Confident and proficient use of Excel
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage deadlines
* High attention to detail
* Knowledge of financial processes (preferred but not essential)
* Trustworthy, discreet, and professional when handling financial information
* Clear, approachable communication skills for daily finance queries
* Experience working in a finance environment would be beneficial
* Ability to work both as part of a team and independently with supervision
