Citizens Advice Eastbourne is looking to recruit a Debt Adviser.
Salary: up to £30,852 per annum – based on experience.
Location: Eastbourne
Hours of work: 37 hours per week.
Job share: would be considered.
Contract: Initially fixed until 31 March 2027 with the possibility of extension.
Responsibilities
* Provide advice to clients, supporting them through the debt advice process, including dealing with emergencies, income maximisation, budgeting advice, and helping with a debt strategy.
* Gather all information regarding the client’s financial circumstances.
* Advise the client on the range of debt solutions available to them and help them make an informed decision on how to proceed.
* Act for clients where necessary by calculating, negotiating, drafting or writing letters and telephoning.
* Prepare and present cases to the appropriate statutory bodies, tribunals and courts.
* Negotiate with third parties in writing and on the telephone.
* Use IT to maintain case records for continuity of casework.
* Participate in training to support continuous learning; willing to consider advisers with generalist experience who wish to develop debt casework knowledge and skills through the standard debt advice training programme.
