Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking caring and dedicated SEND Learning Support Assistants to work within a specialist school in North West London supporting children with learning disabilities, autism, and additional complex needs.
This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them develop confidence, independence, and key life skills in a nurturing learning environment.
The RoleAs a SEND Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and therapists to support pupils across the school day. Many students require 1:1 or small group support, helping them engage in learning activities, communication development, and daily routines.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEND
* Supporting learning activities tailored to each child's needs and abilities
* Encouraging the development of communication, social skills, and independence
* Supporting pupils with sensory activities and structured routines
* Assisting with classroom organisation and behaviour support
* Working collaboratively with teachers and specialist staff to ensure pupils receive consistent support
The Ideal Candidate
* Experience working with children or young people with SEND (autism or learning disabilities is desirable)
* A patient, nurturing and compassionate approach
* Strong teamwork and communication skills
* Ability to follow structured routines and support individual learning needs
* A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
Candidates with backgrounds in education, care, support work, early years, or psychology-related fields are encouraged to apply.
