About the Role
We aim to be the water company people want to be supplied by and work for. You’ll play a crucial role within our market-leading laboratories, providing water testing services for various clients using state-of-the-art equipment. Previous laboratory experience is not essential, but a desire to expand your microbiology knowledge and build a career at South East Water is important.
Main Responsibilities
1. Operate instrumentation as per the management system.
2. Assist with maintenance and operation of preparatory equipment.
3. Maintain logs and record books accurately.
4. Enter data into the Laboratory Information Management System accurately and timely.
5. Report quality issues to senior staff.
6. Prepare reagents and AQC’s following internal procedures.
7. Maintain good laboratory practices and housekeeping.
8. Participate in internal audits for compliance.
9. Contribute to chemistry section tasks.
10. Meet deadlines and service level agreements.
11. Prioritize tasks and demonstrate flexibility.
12. Organize work systematically and demonstrate foresight.
13. Understand analytical quality control principles.
14. Adhere to health, safety, and environmental standards.
15. Develop laboratory skills for career growth.
Candidate Requirements
* Strong numeracy, literacy, and computer skills for robust laboratory practice.
* Qualified to A-level or equivalent, or relevant experience.
* Willingness to learn and apply new knowledge.
