Overview
We are seeking candidates for the post of Education Senior Inclusion Officer. This is an exceptional career opportunity to contribute to the education offer in Conwy and to contribute to the education inclusion support offer for schools in Conwy. This role has been created in response to the increasing need to support young people experiencing attendance difficulties, school avoidance, or educational disengagement. Inclusion is a process through which all pupils access common opportunities in ways relevant to their needs, and which ensures that they fully belong to the school community. Coherent plans for the development of inclusion linked to school improvement strategies are a vital part of this, and this post will contribute extensively to this area.
Responsibilities
* Support learner engagement in education to ensure that every young person has access to the education and support they need through strategic work in the sector.
* Develop the inclusion offer in partnership with the inclusion team.
* Collaborate with schools and stakeholders to improve inclusion outcomes.
* Lead and influence inclusion strategies at the whole school level.
Qualifications
* Significant expertise in working with children and young people with complex social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
* Strong understanding of effective safeguarding, attendance, and inclusion strategies at senior leadership level in a school setting.
* Extensive experience of senior leadership in schools.
* Experience leading approaches in positive and inclusive ALN practice to support learners at whole school level.
* Ability to evidence how inclusion work at senior leadership level has improved outcomes for learners in education settings.
Welsh Language Skills
The ability to communicate in Welsh is essential for this post. Welsh is used in daily work and when communicating with learners and stakeholders. Applications in Welsh or English will not be treated less favourably.
