Go back East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust

Consultant Haematologist

The closing date is 01 June 2025

The Trust faced challenges in delivering cancer access standards. The creation of a Cancer Services Care Group with dedicated leadership has enabled the Trust to focus on achieving these standards and developing strategies to provide excellent services to its populations. This approach has led to significant improvements over the past year, and the care group continues to develop strategies to sustain this progress.

The Haematology department offers comprehensive clinical and laboratory services for patients across East Kent. Inpatients for haematology and haemophilia are centralized at Kent and Canterbury Hospital. Nineteen outpatient clinics are held weekly across all four sites.

4. Interpret haematological laboratory tests and advise clinical colleagues. Support the Haematology laboratories in this capacity.
5. Conduct clinical practice adhering to high ethical and governance standards.
6. Support other clinical specialties as needed.
7. Participate in clinical audit, departmental governance activities, and activities supporting appraisal and revalidation.
8. Attend multidisciplinary team and clinical governance meetings regularly.
