Protocol Education is working with a welcoming and well-supported primary school in Gateshead to recruit a full-time Reception Teacher. This is a fantastic opportunity within Teaching jobs in Gateshead for someone who thrives in EYFS and wants to make a lasting impact from day one.
About the role
You’ll take full responsibility for a Reception class, supported by an experienced Teaching Assistant and a collaborative Early Years team. This is a hands‑on, rewarding role where no two days are the same — from phonics and storytelling to outdoor learning and play‑based exploration.
What your day‑to‑day will look like
* Delivering engaging, play‑based lessons aligned with the EYFS framework
* Supporting early phonics, language development, and communication skills
* Creating a safe, stimulating, and structured learning environment
* Encouraging social development, independence, and curiosity
* Observing, assessing, and tracking individual progress
* Building strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues
You’ll play a key role in helping children settle into school, develop confidence, and begin their love of learning.
What we’re looking for
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Experience or strong interest in Early Years education
* A nurturing, patient, and creative approach
* Strong understanding of child development
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
