Www.thetechrecruiter.ai have partnered with a global manufacturing business who are looking for a talented Data Engineer to join our growing data team based in Glasgow. This is an exciting opportunity to work on modern, cloud-based data platforms and play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable data solutions.
The Role
As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and optimising robust data pipelines, enabling reliable analytics and data-driven decision making across the business. You will work closely with analytics, data science, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality data products.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes
* Work extensively with Databricks and Apache Spark to process large datasets
* Develop clean, efficient, and well-tested code in Python
* Integrate data from a variety of sources including APIs, databases, and cloud storage
* Optimise data performance, reliability, and quality
* Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
* Contribute to data architecture and best practices
Required Skills & Experience
* Strong experience with Python for data engineering
* Hands-on experience with Databricks and Apache Spark
* Solid understanding of data engineering concepts and architectures
* Experience working with SQL and relational databases
* Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
* Knowledge of data lakes, data warehouses, and associated technologies
* Experience with version control tools (e.g. Git)
Desirable (Nice to Have)
* Experience with Azure Data services (e.g. ADLS, Synapse)
* CI/CD experience for data pipelines
* Exposure to data governance, security, or monitoring tools
