Oldham | Agency | Up to £40 per hour Safeguarding & Care Planning | Advanced Practitioner | 3 Days in Office Oldham Council is recruiting an experienced Advanced Practitioner to join their Safeguarding and Care Planning Team. This is a key leadership role, offering the chance to influence practice quality, support less experienced staff, and ensure robust safeguarding across complex cases. You’ll be expected to work at least 3 days a week in the office, with flexibility around the remaining time. This is a high-impact post for a practitioner who thrives in fast-paced frontline environments and can bring sound judgement, oversight, and stability to the team. Key Responsibilities: Lead on complex safeguarding and care planning cases Provide guidance, mentoring, and reflective supervision to team members Ensure high standards of assessment, planning, and intervention Liaise with multi-agency professionals to coordinate effective safeguarding responses Support team managers in maintaining quality practice and timely interventions Practice Model: Oldham’s safeguarding services are underpinned by strength-based approaches, early permanence planning, and reflective supervision. As an Advanced Practitioner, you’ll be central to maintaining quality assurance and supporting staff development within a busy statutory team. Essential Requirements: Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England Extensive post-qualifying experience in safeguarding and care planning Proven ability to manage complex cases and support other practitioners Strong leadership, mentoring, and practice development skills Availability for at least 3 days a week in-office (Oldham-based) Benefits: Up to £40 per hour (depending on experience) 3-month assignment with possibility to extend Flexible hybrid working (minimum 3 days office-based) Opportunity to lead on quality practice and support team development Strong team culture and management support Interested?
