The services of Hays have been retained by our client, the Northern Ireland Housing Executive (NIHE), to recruit a Quality Inspector. Based from their Omagh office within the Project Delivery team, which is a multi-disciplinary and professional in-house operation that delivers the Housing Executive’s Planned Scheme Improvement programmes. This organisation manages more than 85,000 properties and employs 3,000 staff throughout NI.
Your new role
As the Quality Inspector, you will carry out inspections and measurements on allocated construction sites, ensuring contract standards are maintained regarding Statutory Regulations, materials, and workmanship. The post holder will inspect records, report, and measure work completed at various stages of construction, maintain detailed records, and forward these to the Contract Administrator/Project Manager.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this position, you should possess:
* A degree or equivalent qualification in a Technical/Construction related discipline, plus 2 years’ post-qualification experience in Construction maintenance, OR
* A BTEC Higher Certificate/Diploma or equivalent qualification in a Technical/Construction related discipline, plus 3 years’ post-qualification experience in Construction maintenance, OR
* Exceptional candidates with 4 years’ relevant experience in Construction maintenance without formal qualifications may also be considered.
What you'll get in return
Salary range: £31,586 - £35,235. You will have the opportunity to work for a large Housing Body on an ongoing temporary contract. This position offers an immediate start with weekly payments via BACS, with all mileage expenses reimbursed at 45p per mile. The role provides a good work-life balance with 37 hours per week and an annual holiday entitlement of 35 days, including statutory holidays.
