How will you make an impact?
The EHS Manager will lead EHS and PSM improvement programs at the Loughborough site, overseeing the Safety Management System, and continuously enhancing EHS processes to ensure safe manufacturing practices. This role involves leading cross-functional teams, fostering a safety-first culture, and employing continuous improvement methodologies (PPI) to elevate site EHS capabilities and engagement.

Job Title: Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager

Location: UK – Loughborough – Bishop Meadow Road/Bakewell Road
Position Summary:
* Manage Environment, Health, Safety, and Process Safety at Loughborough sites.
* Develop and implement EHS systems and frameworks ensuring compliance with legislation, company policies, and industry standards.
* Act as liaison with regulatory bodies such as HSE and Environment Agency, managing inspections and actions.
* Monitor and report on EHS performance for compliance and improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
* Establish and maintain EHS management systems and programs.
* Lead site EHS compliance, ensuring adherence to legislation and standards.
* Participate in the Senior Leadership Team.
* Ensure timely and accurate regulatory reporting, including permits and compliance documentation.
* Collaborate with EHS leadership and risk management teams to implement strategies and provide training.
* Develop metrics and analyze data to drive improvements.
* Lead behavioral safety initiatives and serve as a technical resource on EHS compliance and risk management.
* Communicate effectively across all levels through various channels and lead safety awareness activities.
* Oversee incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
* Manage EHS budget and lead strategic initiatives related to EHS and sustainability.
* Stay informed on legislative changes and industry trends to keep the site compliant and proactive.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:
* Extensive hands-on EHS experience, ideally within Oil, Petrochemical, Pharmaceutical, Chemical Waste, or FMCG industries.
* Experience with regulators on Lower Tier COMAH, IPPC, Waste Management Licenses, or equivalent.
* Strong understanding of ISO14001 EMS.
* Proven team leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
* Ability to train and influence others effectively.
* Skilled in incident investigation and root cause analysis.
* Project management experience and knowledge of behavioral safety and human factors.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, Risk Management, or related field.
* NEBOSH National Diploma or General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety.
* Member of IOSH (Grad IOSH, Tech IOSH, or Chartered).
* Member of IEMA (Associate, Full Member, or Chartered).
* Experience leading ISO14001 EMS programs.
* Good knowledge of HSE and EA guidance, ACOPs, and behavioral safety principles.
