Grade E £30,559 - £32,654 pro rata pa 12 months fixed term contract 37 Hours An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our award-winning Planning Service at Tewkesbury Borough Council as a Planning Compliance Officer. This is a 12-month fixed-term position to cover maternity leave. Located in north Gloucestershire, Tewkesbury Borough is experiencing significant residential and commercial growth within an extremely diverse environment. Bordering Cheltenham and Gloucester we occupy a strategic location on the M5 and M50 corridors and have one of the strongest economies and rapid population growth in the UK. We also have significant environmental assets, such as the Cotswolds National Landscape, a rich built heritage and European protected sites. Planning compliance is crucial to the successful delivery of new development and we are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and proactive individual to join our small but friendly team to help with our varied and challenging work. You will have excellent investigative skills, being able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team. The successful candidate will ideally have experience working in development management or a similar regulatory compliance role, although this is not essential. You will have excellent negotiation skills and be able to deal with all customers with tact and diplomacy. Training will be provided so that you will have the ability and confidence to establish whether development is being carried out in accordance with the necessary permissions and whether planning conditions are being breached.
