Job Description:
We are seeking a creative and highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join the Turing AI World-Leading Fellowship research programme led by Professor Alison Noble. This research aims to develop new AI for shared human-AI decision-making in healthcare imaging. The focus is on AI-assisted ultrasound guidance, building on prior work on video and multi-modality ultrasound analysis. The appointee will join the Noble research group at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering, located at the Old Road Campus in Headington.
This fixed-term position is funded by UKRI for two years. You will work within a small, interdisciplinary team towards a shared goal. Responsibilities include designing and testing machine-learning algorithms for multi-modal ultrasound guidance that are intuitive and trustworthy for non-specialists. You will collaborate with clinical experts to acquire training and testing data, develop prototype solutions based on the latest in medical imaging AI, computer vision, and robotic guidance, and evaluate models in clinical scenarios, including quantitative and human factors assessments.
Applicants should hold a PhD/DPhil (or near completion) in computer vision, robotics, or biomedical image analysis. Knowledge of ultrasound imaging is not mandatory. A strong publication record and sufficient theoretical knowledge of deep learning methodologies and working with real-world data are required. For more information about working at the Department, see [link].
Application deadline: Only online applications received before midday on 17 June 2025 will be considered.
