As Wake Night staff-member you are expected to work closely with clients, following personal care routines and maintaining therapeutic programmes. You are expected to familiarise yourself with cases and provide informed support to the team. You will give medication to clients in line with the Company's medication policies. You will undertake household tasks as directed by the manager, maintaining a safe, clean and healthy environment for clients. You must vigilantly seek out all risk assessments and reactive management plans with regard to aspects of health and safety and client behaviour on a regular basis without prompting, ensuring that you understand and can implement them effectively. You are expected to escort and support clients outside the Home if necessary i.e. to hospital. Your position will require regular training which you are obliged to undertake at the Company's discretion. You are obliged to attend compulsory monthly support meetings with the Home Manager to address your performance and other work-related issues.
Work hours: 9pm-8.30am. (with one hour break). Staff are contracted to attend a 2hr 10min staff education/ training session each calendar month. Hourly rate of pay applies.
18-20 years £10.20 hour without QCF 2 in Care (equivalent with continuity bonus £10.53 hour); £10.25 hour with QCF 2 in Care (equivalent with continuity bonus £10.58 hour);
21 years and over £12.50 hour without QCF 3 in Care (equivalent with continuity bonus £12.83 hour); £12.56 hour with QCF 2 in Care (equivalent with continuity bonus £12.89 hour); £12.70 hour with QCF3 in Care (equivalent with continuity bonus £12.13 hour)
A continuity bonus of £0.33p hour is be paid for each period from the 21st of the month to the 20th of the following month you work without a break for sickness/absence or lateness of one hour or more, or frustration of the Home's rota by withdrawing your services (as in the case of overtime/ time-in-lieu being agreed) less than 3 days before such shift should commence and for maintaining attendance at compulsory monthly in-service education and at compulsory training events specified by the company at its discretion, which are considered necessary for your employment.
In homes where only one wake night staff is employed and in any case at the sole discretion of the Company, Wake Night Staff can participate in the Active On-Call System (AOC) on particular days according to the monthly rota, for which there will be separate remuneration: currently £20.00 a night stand by payment with the National Minimum Wage applying to hours during call out.
The rate of pay is flat and there are no enhancements for working bank holidays.
Holiday entitlement from is 5.6 weeks pro rata.
