Rationale
24. Given theprehensive nature and critical importance of Technology Service Management (GTSM) for Barclays, it is essential to appoint a Principal Architect.
25. As we continue to evolve our capabilities and platforms within Group Tech, such as Cloud, Storage, Networks, and other Group platforms like XDP and EDP, it is crucial to advance the underlying architecture and capabilities of GTSM.
26. This position directly supports our Group Technology strategy to maintain trust in technology services by strengthening enterprise security and resilience capabilities, enhancing service engineering standards to address diverse disruption and threat scenarios, maintaining disciplined service management, including continuous identification and mitigation of service risks, and rigorously testing services with increasingly sophisticated scenarios.
27. To achieve these objectives, we require a strategy and plan underpinned by an integrated architecture that supports not only GTSM but the entire Group. Failure to approve this role will result in a sub-optimal approach to evolving GTSM's foundational capabilities.
