Managing Director – Eltek (DAQ business of Grant Instruments)
Grant Instruments is seeking an exceptional Managing Director to lead Eltek, its expanding Data Acquisition business, into its next phase of strategic growth. This role is ideal for a commercially driven, technically fluent leader with deep understanding of IoT‑enabled hardware, cloud platforms, and data acquisition technologies.
Reporting to the Grant Instruments CEO and Board, the Managing Director will own full executive responsibility for the Eltek business. You will shape the strategic roadmap, scale our IoT‑enabled DAQ portfolio, ensure product excellence, and drive commercial growth across software, hardware, and cloud‑based services.
Key Responsibilities
* Strategic Leadership: develop and execute a growth strategy that leverages IoT technology, cloud systems, and emerging market needs; identify new opportunities in data logging, remote monitoring, and IoT‑enabled sensing; lead long‑term planning, budgeting, and risk management; hold full P&L accountability; build strong commercial relationships; negotiate contracts, partnerships, licensing; ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Operations & Product Delivery: oversee delivery of IoT‑enabled hardware and cloud‑based software products, including manufacturing, supply chain, QA, and technical support; prioritise product development and R&D initiatives; maintain dependable customer support; lead, mentor, develop a multidisciplinary team; foster a culture of innovation and accountability; encourage collaboration across Grant Instruments Group; support recruitment and performance management; drive sales strategy, market positioning, and key account development; support creation of marketing materials, digital content, and technical documentation; represent company at industry events and client meetings.
About You
* Proven growth driver in a B2B technical environment, ideally within IoT, SaaS, instrumentation, telemetry, or data acquisition.
* Senior leadership experience (MD, GM, or similar) within a technology‑focused SME.
* Strong commercial and technical understanding of IoT ecosystems.
* Solid financial and operational management experience with P&L ownership.
* Experience leading multidisciplinary teams within a small‑business or scale‑up environment.
* Strong commercial acumen and revenue‑growth track record.
* Ability to operate strategically while engaging in operational and technical detail when needed.
* Experience in life sciences, environmental monitoring, industrial manufacturing, heritage preservation, or utilities.
* Knowledge of embedded systems, IoT frameworks, wireless communication protocols, or cloud‑based data acquisition platforms.
* Experience leading change during acquisitions or product integration initiatives.
* Background in software‑enabled instrumentation, product development, or technical project management.
* Experience working with global distribution networks and international clients.
Education
* Bachelor’s degree in a technical or scientific discipline required.
* MBA or postgraduate qualification is beneficial.
