My client is seeking a Head Chef to oversee and develop the hospitality and main dining facilities at an independent school in Bedfordshire. You will lead a large team to deliver high-quality food in an environment that fosters passion and enthusiasm.
Creativity and engagement with staff and the wider school community are essential. As Head Chef, you will participate in school events and liaise with parents and teachers, so excellent communication skills are required.
The role includes:
1. Planning, organizing, and directing food preparation and cooking
2. Taking a hands-on approach to food production for pupils, staff, hospitality, and events
3. Delivering high-end hospitality events
4. Managing food safety, H&S, and COSHH compliance
5. Monitoring costs and maintaining budgets
You are:
1. Proven experience as a Senior Sous Chef or Head Chef, capable of preparing food for large numbers
2. Excellent people skills with the ability to lead, develop, train, motivate, and inspire a large team
3. Passionate about food and innovative, up-to-date with current food trends
4. Skilled in culinary techniques and financial management
5. High standards and quality-driven with strong organizational skills
