Responsibilities
* Provide excellent careers and employability information, advice and guidance to students.
* Support learners with their career progression and set SMART career targets to support learners to positive destinations.
* Provide students and potential students with the information they need to make decisions on future studies or employment at the end of their time at college.
* Support students to secure part‑time employment whilst they are studying.
* Help students decide the steps they need to take to achieve their aspirations and change lives through guidance and support.
* Commit to providing excellent information, advice and guidance on careers and employability to students to secure the best outcomes.
Qualifications and Skills
* Experience with student guidance, working with learners aged 14–16, 16–18, 19+ including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities/Looked After Children/Education Health and Care Plans.
* Experience of creating innovative resources and delivering group sessions; strong presentation skills are essential.
* Level 3 in Initial Advice and Guidance, or willingness to undertake it; Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in English and Maths (or willingness to undertake).
* The organisation will support undertaking the Careers Information, Advice and Guidance qualification at Level 6 to meet Gatsby Benchmarks.
* Ideally knowledge of qualifications within Further Education and progression routes.
Department and Collaboration
You will report to the Careers Education Information Advice and Guidance Leader as part of the Careers Team; you will work with the Students Support team and refer students to them as required for issues such as financial or emotional support. You will develop links with Curriculum teams to promote the Careers Team and the information and guidance provided. The role supports the achievement of the Gatsby Benchmarks and Matrix accreditation.
