About the Role
We’re seeking a seasoned Principal Medical Writer to oversee the development of robust scientific content and the onsite delivery of an innovative, award-winning standalone event. This pivotal role involves leading the development and delivery of the scientific programme while managing a high-performing scientific services team of five members.
What You’ll Do
* Design and create a full range of medical education and communication programmes for implementation under their guidance.
* Direct the delivery of high-quality scientific content and provide internal leadership to editorial teams across multiple accounts.
* Lead scientific discussions with clients and external experts, both face-to-face and via calls.
* Develop scientific strategies to inform tactical planning of accounts, internally and with clients.
* Manage editorial resources effectively.
* Drive organic growth opportunities on accounts.
* Act as scientific lead for proposals and pitches.
* Line manage, mentor, coach, and train team members.
What You’ll Need
* Extensive agency experience, with prior senior medical writing roles.
* A proven track record of scientific and editorial leadership for large or complex accounts.
* Strong leadership and communication skills, high emotional intelligence, adaptability, and effective issue management.
* A history of identifying organic growth and contributing scientific insights to proposals and pitches.
* Experience in delivering events and digital projects.
* Excellent understanding of pharmaceutical regulations such as ABPI, GPP3, and ICMJE.
