Overview
The post holder will be responsible for delivering an effective and efficient support service to the Emergency Directorate, to assist in the provision of quality patient care. This will include comprehensive clerical and administrative duties that support the administrative elements of the emergency patient pathway, along with receptionist responsibility to the Emergency Department, both Adult and Paediatric areas.
Responsibilities
* First line of contact with families and professionals, and will provide assistance and reassurance to distressed or anxious patients/visitors.
* Coordinate and ensure the smooth registration of patients attending the Emergency Department and designated outpatient clinics.
* Assist in the preparation of the administration paperwork and attend the clinical board rounds throughout various times.
* Act as a multi-skilled worker within the Emergency Care Directorate adapting to the competing demands of the service.
* Registration of patients attending the department and assisting clinical colleagues with administration duties.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Self-motivated individual who can work well within a team and demonstrate the ability to use own initiative.
* Attention to detail and flexibility to work across a 24 hour shift pattern is essential.
* Knowledge of EPR and previous experience of having worked in a similar environment desirable.

Various shifts - to include late shifts, early shifts, evenings, nights and weekends.
