12 Month Fixed Term Contract Job Purpose Reporting to the ATC Value Stream Manager, the Quality Surveyor will be required to ensure that appropriate systems and checks are in place to result in components, sub-assemblies and other manufactured or processed items comply with customer requirements. In addition, the Quality Surveyor will service and support the related manufacturing cell. Main Duties & Responsibilities include: Establish inspection or test requirements from production card/quality plan or Quality Engineer for items manufactured/processed in house and sub-contractor/purchased items. Verify that items comply with customers requirements by reference to appropriate documentation and use of appropriate measuring/test equipment and visual techniques. Raise internal rejects, & supplier CARs as appropriate against non-conformances identified. Ensure that all non-conformance with quality requirements are reported with the minimum of delay in order to reduce scrap/reject. Ensure incidents/discrepancies receive adequate corrective and preventative actions. Complete all relevant documentation, including First Article Inspection reports / reject paperwork etc in accordance with procedures. Conduct product & process audits when required on any aspect of the manufacturing system Assist production personnel in measurement and gauging techniques and use of specialist measuring equipment as required Be familiar with the specifications, company procedures, associated documentation and processes applicable to the area involved. Assist in the training of any new personnel within or outside the department. Assist with statistical techniques conducting, training, and gathering. Ensure that all inspection equipment is adequately identified, maintained and calibrated before use. Liaise with production personnel and suppliers/sub-contractors as and when required resolving problems/issues. Any additional tasks or duties deemed necessary to meet the responsibilities of the role. Qualification Experience and Skills 1. Qualifications GCSE Maths & English C or above 2. Experience Experience in an Engineering / Manufacturing environment. At least 1 years experience in a fabric assembly / sewing environment. 3. Knowledge & Skills A good understanding of drawings and A.T. Cell specifications. Component inspection to appropriate quality standards. Use of appropriate measuring equipment P.C. Competent 4. Personal Qualities A results focused self-starter Have a 'can-do attitude. Proven track records of meeting targets & deadlines. Excellent organisational, time management & prioritisation skills. Attention to detail and methodical with the ability to work under pressure. 5. Circumstances Available & willing to work additional hours when required to ensure deadlines are met. Occasional travel may be required. Desirable NVQ L3 in a relevant discipline More than 5 experience in an Engineering / Manufacturing environment. Experience within the aerospace industry.
