If this is you, we would love to hear from you. We have excellent opportunities for full and part time Occupational Therapy Assistants across the following teams. Community Team (2 posts) – Full time, 37 hours per week/ Part time, 20 hours per week Reablement Team – Full time, 37 hours per week Our teams: You will work alongside teams which include Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Assistants, and a Team Manager, also working closely with Social Workers, Social Care Facilitators, and a range of health and community partners. Community Occupational Therapy Team The Solihull Occupational Therapy Service is a proactive, person-centred team that plays a vital role in supporting adults across the borough to live independently, safely, and with dignity. We provide a wide range of services for Solihull residents aged 18 and over, including functional assessments to understand daily living challenges, provision of equipment to support daily living, and recommendations for both minor and major home adaptations like grab rails or stairlifts and level-access showers. We also prevent unnecessary admissions into acute care. In addition, we offer advice and education to individuals, families, and carers to promote long-term independence and wellbeing. Through these services, we aim to reduce reliance on long-term care and help people achieve a better quality of life in their own homes. Reablement Team Reablement is a dynamic multi-disciplinary service playing an important role in delivering on Solihull’s Adult Social Care offer to prevent, reduce and delay dependence on care and support services. Working alongside an inhouse specialist registered provider, we support and enable people to regain their safety, independence and confidence at home, reduce their packages of care and achieve a good quality of life by achieving their personalised goals. The service is for Solihull residents aged 18 and above. Job requirements: To be successful in the role of an Occupational Therapy Assistant you will have: NVQ level 3 in Health or Social Care or equivalent qualification 5 GCSE’s (or equivalent) including maths and English Language at grade C or above, or able to demonstrate equivalent competency in literacy and numeracy to meet job requirements. Previous experience of working in a health or social care setting, supporting people to devise and implement plans to support independence. Experience of managing a caseload and maintaining appropriate and accurate records. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, able to engage in conversations with people that maximises their strengths and abilities. An awareness or relevant legislation and how this affects the rights of people with health and care needs. You will also hold a driving licence and own your own vehicle as this is an essential car user post due to the demands of the job.
