Full Time Vacancy
An opportunity has arisen to join Thames Valley Police as a Safety Camera Operator. In this role, you will work in a small team supporting the mobile and fixed safety camera program by setting up and monitoring speed detection equipment.
As a Safety Camera Operator, your work will contribute to road safety by helping to reduce accidents and injuries on Thames Valley roads. Your responsibilities include:
1. Driving to designated locations for speed enforcement using vehicle-based equipment.
2. Operating static speed and red light camera enforcement equipment.
3. Attending court to give evidence related to speed offences.
You must be able to travel across the Force area and complete assignments promptly. Due to the nature of the work, which may involve unsocial hours and lone working, a full UK driving licence is essential, especially as public transport may not always be available or suitable at these times.
Benefits include 24 days of annual leave (pro-rata for part-time), flexible working conditions, lifestyle discounts, career development opportunities, and the option to join a local government pension scheme. For a full list of benefits, please click the link below.
If you are a current TVP employee with less than 12 months in your current role, you need approval from your line manager to apply. 'At risk' staff should apply directly to the At Risk Recruitment Mailbox with your REI form, not through the online application.
For queries, contact the Recruitment Team at RecruitmentPoliceStaff@thamesvalley.police.uk, quoting reference 22576. We aim to respond promptly.
Please use Google Chrome when completing your application for optimal performance.
