3-month contract position with a local authority Summary This is a 3-month contract position with a local authority, where you will lead legal proceedings on behalf of the Borough Council concerning tenancy enforcement in Housing Management. The role involves providing supervision, assistance, and guidance to the Housing Management Team to sustain tenancies effectively. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that the Council's housing objectives and priorities are met, while maintaining high standards of customer care. Responsibilities Conduct final reviews and analyze individual tenancies, tenants, and actions taken to sustain tenancies. Make recommendations to case officers regarding the next steps in tenancy management. Assist Housing Officers, including those in Independent Living, and Housing Coordinators with additional informal support. Lead and support the delivery of all housing management functions affecting tenants. Contribute as a member of a multi-functional housing team to provide a seamless, qualitative, and customer-focused service. Foster a positive working environment as part of the wider team. Ensure customer care is maintained to the agreed standards according to the Council’s purpose, aims, and values. Contribute to the delivery of a comprehensive Housing Service in line with the Council’s policies and procedures. Essential Experience Required Ability to maintain confidentiality and compliance with Human Rights and Data Protection legislation. Effective communication skills with residents, staff, and other organizations, both verbally and in writing. Capability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing workload and meeting deadlines. Understanding of current housing issues and the local and national political and social framework of local authority housing services. Previous experience dealing with the public both face-to-face and by telephone with a diverse customer base. Essential Qualification Required Working towards full membership of the Chartered Institute of Housing or an equivalent qualification.
