The ServiceNow Development Manager acts as a bridge between business needs and technical solutions, ensuring the effective utilization of the ServiceNow platform to drive business value. You will be at the heart of delivering capabilities and services through the ServiceNow platform for Defra. Join the highly motivated Service Tooling team during a period of increasing demand, managing development activities across multiple ServiceNow capabilities such as ITSM, ITAM, SPM, CSM, WSD, HRSD, and BCM. The Manager oversees the development, implementation, and maintenance of ServiceNow solutions, managing a team of 14 developers and system administrators to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Responsibilities include stakeholder management, strategic planning, promoting best practices, and continuous platform improvement. * Managing development capability of the Service Tooling Team and promoting best practices and standards.
* Leading, coaching, and developing a team of ServiceNow developers, fostering a collaborative, high-performing environment.
* Monitoring project progress, identifying and mitigating risks, and ensuring quality of deliverables.
* Contributing to the development and execution of the ServiceNow platform roadmap, aligning it with business needs and technological advancements.
* Establishing and driving best practices for ServiceNow development, ensuring compliance, and promoting platform standardization with Platform Architects.
* Ensuring resilience across the ServiceNow development team.
* Managing the Out of hours call-out rota.
* Having a strong understanding of the ServiceNow platform, including capabilities, architecture, and development best practices.
* Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments.
* Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to motivate the team and interact with stakeholders.
* Ability to resolve technical challenges, analyze complex issues, and develop innovative solutions.
* Experience managing complex development activities, including planning, execution, and risk management.
* Solid understanding of ServiceNow integrations with other software products.
