Drainage Apprentice We're looking for a Drainage Apprentice to join our Highways team based in Brixworth, Northamptonshire, working towards a Level 2 apprenticeship in Drainage Network Operative. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading construction and infrastructure services company on an apprenticeship. Whilst working towards a recognised qualification, you'll be able to put your learnings into practice in your day-to-day role, helping you progress within your chosen career. Location: Brixworth, Northamptonshire Hours : 40 hours per week Salary: £20,800 per annum How does an apprenticeship work? As a Drainage Apprentice you'll be enrolled onto a Level 2 apprenticeship as a Drainage Network Operative, giving you the opportunity to earn whilst you learn. You'll work closely with the Highways team to design, build and maintain infrastructure for the highways, rail, aviation and ports sectors, with a common goal of connecting people What will your day to day duties include? Inspecting drainage systems for wear, damage, or leaks Assisting in repair work under supervision Using hand tools or machinery under supervision Maintaining a clean and safe worksite Following health and safety protocols, wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), and ensuring a safe working environment What are we looking for? A minimum of GCSEs at grades 3 – 9 (GCSE D or above), Functional Skills level 1 in English and Maths Are punctual, self-motivated, and willing to learn Have the ability to handle physical work in varying weather conditions Are over 18 years of age due to the possibility of staying away from home for work and training Driving license preferable/advantageous due to location and opportunities to drive certain vehicles etc We're all about finding potential here at Kier, and transferable skills are always welcome!
