Overview
Under close supervision, performs routine tasks requiring knowledge of fundamental engineering, mathematical and construction concepts. Assists licensed surveyors in fieldwork, data collection and report preparation, while gaining hands-on experience in surveying techniques and technologies. This is a temporary, non-exempt position paid on an hourly basis.

Responsibilities
* Assists with land surveysusing GPS, total stations, and other equipment, collecting data on land features, boundaries, and topography.
* Supports in preparing survey documents, including plats and legal descriptions.
* Assists with fundamental project tasks such as quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and basic design calculations.
* Assists in collecting field data and test samples.
* Assists in maintaining the technical library.
* Assists in maintaining and calibrating surveying equipment and tools.
* Performs routine filing and delivery of documents.
* Proficient in the use of computers, computer aided design and other relevant software and hardware tools.
Qualifications
* Student status in Civil Engineering or an appropriate related discipline at an accredited college or university.
