Director, Global Value & Access Oncology Execution – non-EU ex-US markets

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting Oncology Value & Access activities in non-European ex-US markets, as well as local access. Critical to the success of this role is the ability to work closely with cross-functional colleagues to execute global V&A strategies and launch plans for Gilead Oncology brands in alignment with commercial/medical and country market access colleagues. The role scope covers the entire Gilead Oncology franchise, giving an opportunity to develop a breadth of experience as Gilead’s oncology pipeline matures, with an initial focus on in-line and upcoming indications in breast cancer. You will be the voice of the relevant markets feeding their needs into the development of Global strategy and materials to maximize product potential and access.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Senior Director, Global Value & Access Oncology In-line Strategy & Execution, our Director of GV&A Oncology Execution – non-EU ex-US markets will:
1. Establish and shape new affiliate engagement model, with expanded scope of responsibility for Oncology Execution Leads (historically, this role focused exclusively on ICR/GPS markets, but will now also incorporate four core markets: Australia, Canada, China and Japan)
2. Cultivate close working relationships with local V&A representatives globally and develop a deep understanding of their local access environment and resultant needs
3. Partner closely with local market teams to adapt and drive execution of GV&A strategies and launch plans to optimize access, reimbursement and uptake of Oncology franchise products (primary initial focus on Trodelvy), aligned to local needs.
4. Partner closely with global cross-functional teams to develop and implement awareness of unmet needs, Oncology product value propositions and health economic tools to support Oncology value demonstration and differentiation.
5. Partner with the GV&A Capabilities & Execution Strategy Lead to roll out the Value Shaping & Realisation initiative that will prepare and train local market teams to ensure understanding of strategy, disease/product data, managing payer objections including negotiation skills for successful launch execution.
6. Support V&A stakeholder engagement plans across local market affiliates, develop engagement objectives and tools to monitor activities and KPIs.
7. Support payer research and insights generation (as needed) to understand Oncology product value perception, V&A landscape trends, value drivers and test value messages.
8. Provide the non-EU ex-US market perspective and champion local markets’ needs into development of GV&A strategies and materials.
9. Lead Worldwide Trodelvy V&A Community monthly meetings to ensure efficient communication and knowledge sharing with all affiliates
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
We’re seeking a strategic, influential leader with the following:
10. At least 12+ years’ experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry in market access-related activities with a Bachelors degree OR 10 + years’ experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry in market access-related activities with a MS/MA degree OR 8 + years’ experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry in market access-related activities with a PhD.
11. Experience in regional/country-level market access, launch planning and execution is required - Global (above-country) experience preferred but not essential.
12. Oncology disease area experience and market knowledge an advantage
13. Strong understanding of payer environment, including HTA, pricing and reimbursement, contracting and negotiation, and policy development
14. Experience developing V&A strategies and dossier submissions, including value messages, HEOR models and tools to support implementation in key markets
15. Demonstrated ability to lead and influence across functions and levels in a matrix environment: skilled facilitator, communicator and strategic thinker
16. Ability to engage and manage multiple stakeholders to achieve the objective
17. Curious with learning agility; Operationally excellent
