Job Description

Job Title: ISPS Support Administrator

Location: Port of Tilbury

Hours: Part Time 14 hours per week/Tuesday and Friday 8am to 4pm

Compensation: Pro-rated £9,500 per annum

About The Role

To produce and issue ISPS passes, maintain a database of said passes and comply with the International Ship & Port Facility Security Code (ISPS).

Provide support to the ISPS Pass Administrator and be competent to fulfil that role as and when required. Liaise with all port departments, tenants and others to ensure that the pass system requirements are understood and adhered to. Assist in the production of monthly reports on volumes of passes issued, archived etc.



Key responsibilities

* Develop and maintain a database of all passes issued in accordance with ISPS regulations.

* Produce record and issue passes as and when required and liaise with the Port Facility Security Officer to produce reports for inspection by TRANSEC.

* Train other users of the system and monitor their work.

* Investigate and report on any misuse/loss of a pass or fraudulent application or on any pass not returned.

* Coordinating with the Port facility Security Officer, Port management, Tenants, Government Departments, Ships Agencies etc to ensure that passes are available to all persons who require said pass for entry.

* Ensuring that records are kept correctly and maintained for inspection.

* Ensuring that all port personnel have a valid pass.



What we're looking for:

We’re looking for a detail-focused and organised individual who can work confidently in a regulated security environment. You’ll have an awareness of the dock estate, knowledge of the ISPS Code, and the ability to manage sensitive information and maintain accurate records. The role requires someone who can prioritise tasks, work independently and as part of a team, liaise with stakeholders, and investigate or report on lost or misused passes while ensuring compliance with port security regulations.



Qualifications and Skills

* Awareness of the dock estate and tasks performed in each area.

* Awareness of the ISPS Code.

* Ability to organise and prioritise effectively.

* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and databases.

* Be able to work on their own and as part of a team.

* Investigating and reporting on all lost or non-returned passes and provide recommendations on actions to be taken.

* Liaising with all parties requesting a pass to confirm that their need is genuine.

* Advise on breaches of said regulations
