Carmichael UK are seeking an experienced Utilities Coordinator to join a Tier 1 main contractor delivering a major section of the HS2 project. This is an excellent opportunity to work on one of the UK’s largest infrastructure schemes, supporting the coordination and delivery of complex utilities diversions, installations, and protection works across multiple sites. The Role As a Utilities Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in planning, coordinating, and managing utility interfaces to ensure packages are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. You’ll liaise with designers, subcontractors, and statutory undertakers to keep works progressing smoothly while maintaining compliance with all relevant standards. Key responsibilities include: Coordinating utility diversions, protection works, and installations Liaising with statutory undertakers and third-party stakeholders Reviewing and managing designs, drawings, and approvals Ensuring safety, environmental, and quality standards are met Assisting in programme planning and progress reporting Managing permits, consents, and access requirements Supporting the wider delivery team on utilities-related issues About You We’re looking for a proactive Utilities Coordinator with: Previous experience in utilities coordination on major civil engineering projects A background in highways, rail, or large-scale infrastructure (HS2 preferred) Good understanding of statutory undertakers processes and interface management Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications Strong organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills Valid CSCS card and full UK driving licence
