Reliability Engineer – Selby, North Yorkshire

Location: Selby, North Yorkshire, YO8 5BJ

Employment Type: Permanent – Full Time

Salary: Negotiable


Responsibilities

* Lead the site equipment reliability improvement strategy by identifying and managing current and future asset reliability risks.
* Manage the equipment criticality assessment of the asset footprint in terms of business risk (HSE, food safety, productivity loss, etc.) to prioritize areas for improvement.
* Provide data analysis for repetitive failures and other problems that adversely affect plant operations to inform the development of structured, visible corrective action plans.
* Facilitate reliability workshops to define and review the preventive maintenance (PM) plan systematically and periodically for all assets.
* Analyse the life‑cycle cost of maintaining the asset portfolio versus the cost of repair and create an appropriate plan to prioritize efforts.
* Maintain a risk register for key assets to support repair or replacement projects to be included in the annual Capital Plan.
* Develop detailed criticality analysis on spares, forecast spares requirements and adapt stock levels to optimise the balance between MTTR and spare‑parts cost.
* Act as a guide and trainer to support the uptake of CMMS across the facility.
* Ensure effective utilisation of predictive/condition‑based methodologies to identify and isolate inherent reliability problems.


Qualifications

* Knowledge and experience of full asset care strategies and processes (maintenance workflow, reliability, failure reduction, FMEA, TPM, etc.).
* Experience with reliability performance indicators (OEE, MTBF, MTTR, failure rates, etc.).
* Experience with manufacturing excellence, preferably in a FMCG environment.
* Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to analyse issues and take effective actions in safety and reliability contexts.
* Up‑to‑date with industry advances in reliability tools and techniques.
* Experience mentoring junior members and influencing cross‑functional stakeholders on reliability and business performance.
* Proficiency in Excel for tool development and analysis.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Experience defining and deploying CMMS across multiple sites.

Maintenance Engineer – Selby, North Yorkshire

Responsibilities

* Carry out fault finding, problem solving, and planned and preventive maintenance on plant equipment.
* Respond to internal customer needs to maximize production time according to priorities.
* Comply with food safety standards and ensure all work is carried out safely.
* Maintain accurate audit‑ready documentation.
* Identify and recommend opportunities for improvement in safety and operational efficiency.
* Maintain a range of manufacturing, production, and packaging machinery.
* Shift pattern: 4 on / 4 off – rotating days and nights.


Qualifications

* Formal electrical engineering qualification (Level 3 NVQ/C&G).
* Experience as a Maintenance Engineer within manufacturing/FMCG.
* Knowledge of both mechanical and electrical maintenance.
* Proactive and willing to learn and develop.
* Experience in electrical and mechanical fault finding.

Site Reliability Engineer – Leeds, Yorkshire

Responsibilities

* Design, build, and evolve core features of New Relic’s observability platform.
* Configure dashboards, alerts, synthetic monitoring, and distributed tracing.
* Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate requirements into resilient, cost‑effective solutions.
* Implement observability‑as‑code with dashboards, alerts, synthetic monitors, and notification channels.
* Integrate instrumentation standards such as OpenTelemetry across distributed systems.
* Mentor associate engineers and lead incident response and analysis.
* Work with stakeholders to design and deliver solutions that enhance engineering productivity.
* Maintain modern DevOps processes and tools for seamless CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

* Experience with Dynatrace, New Relic, or Splunk.
* Hands‑on experience in New Relic APM, alerts, traces, events, and logs setup.
* Familiarity with Drop rules and NRQL in New Relic GraphiQL explorer.
* Infrastructure as Code proficiency with Terraform.
* Extensive DevOps experience with automation, CI/CD pipelines, and containerisation.
* Strong coding abilities in at least one modern programming language.
* Deep familiarity with Azure cloud platforms.
* Expertise in Azure Monitor and Azure App Insights.
* Highly resilient attitude and proactive mindset.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Strong problem‑solving skills and troubleshooting complex systems.
