The Practice
Ballachulish Medical Practice is a friendly, rural practice serving a close-knit community in the Lochaber area. With a practice population of approximately 1,550, our footprint spans North Ballachulish to Kinlochleven, Glencoe, Duror and Appin, including a local nursing home with around 30 residents.
We operate a hybrid dispensing model, with acute medications dispensed in practice and repeats dispensed and delivered to the practice by local Community Pharmacies. We currently operate on EMIS but are scheduled to move to Vision Hosted as part of the planned, national GP IT re-provisioning programme.
The practice is at an exciting stage of growth and development, offering an excellent opportunity to shape services in a supportive, collaborative environment at the heart of a rural community. Strengthening links with our nearest board managed practices, working closely with Community Pharmacies and developing the skill-mix within the clinical team will help to support the resilience of the practice and ensure the continued delivery of safe, sustainable and high-quality patient care.
