CUSTOMER SERVICE ADVISOR - YARD OPERATIVE

WHAT IS THE ROLE?
A Customer Service Assistant in one of our busy yards plays a vital role in ensuring yard operations are carried out efficiently, effectively, and safely, while embodying our customer-first culture. You will primarily work outdoors, serving customers and operating various forklift trucks to prepare and load orders. Our Yard Operatives pride themselves on delivering high-quality customer service through excellent product knowledge and advice. Branch hours are Mon - Thurs 07:30 - 17:00, Fri 07:30 - 16:00, Sat 08:00 - 12:00, with flexible working patterns considered.
WHAT WILL I BE DOING?
* Ensuring personal and workplace health and safety, observing regulations under the Health and Safety at Work Act
* Serving customers face-to-face independently and as part of a team
* Preparing orders for collection & delivery, completing sales documentation
* Loading and unloading vehicles manually and with forklift trucks
* Checking and storing goods inwards accurately
* Maintaining stock levels and conducting stock takes
WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?
* An approachable, pleasant team player with a passion for customer service
* Willingness and aptitude to learn, with basic literacy and numeracy skills
* Proactive, can-do attitude
* Experience in a similar role or prior forklift license (if applicable) - optional but preferred
