Our client is seeking a credible HR Assistant to join their busy and friendly team, playing a crucial role in delivering a generalist HR service alongside administrative tasks supporting the wider HR team. Reporting to the Senior HR Business Partner, the successful candidate will provide comprehensive and proactive administrative support, ensuring operational procedures, systems, and processes are aligned with the team's goals. The role involves assisting in the smooth operation of HR functions to enhance team effectiveness through excellent administration and organizational support. Experience in the publishing sector is preferred.
Details
* Temporary HR Assistant, immediate start, 3 months
* Salary: £16 - £16.50 per hour
* Hours: 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday
* Hybrid: 1-2 days in the office
Responsibilities
* Monitor the HR inbox, being the first point of contact for queries from employees and managers
* Manage onboarding processes for new hires, including conducting first-day inductions
* Process employee payroll changes via the HR system monthly
* Draft and send contracts and correspondence for new and current employees
* Perform IR35 checks and issue freelancer contracts
* Lead the annual leave reset process
* Handle ad hoc HR projects as required
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
* Previous experience in a similar HR role
* Excellent communication and organizational skills, approachable and confident in dealing with all levels
* Strong attention to detail and adaptability to new systems
* Ability to prioritize and work under pressure, managing expectations and interruptions
* Part or full CIPD qualification is desirable but not essential
