Our client a busy and well-established main dealer in Reading is looking for a capable Workshop Controller to take ownership of workshop performance, team management, and day-to-day operations. This role would suit someone currently working as a Workshop Controller, Senior Technician, Workshop Manager, or Service Controller within the motor trade, looking for a stable, high-performing environment.
Salary: £38,000 43,000 basic OTE £49,000
Hours: Monday Friday 8am 5pm 1 in 4 Saturdays 8am 12pm

What youll be doing (and doing brilliantly)
* Managing workshop efficiency, productivity, and technician utilisation
* Allocating job cards to maximise workflow and output
* Overseeing accurate and timely job card write-ups and completion status
* Ensuring all administration is completed to a high standard
* Passing completed jobs to costing, warranty, and invoicing teams
* Operating the workshop loading system effectively
* Supporting upsell opportunities and departmental performance targets
* Leading and managing a team of circa 20 technicians
What were looking for
* Experience as a Workshop Controller / Workshop Manager / Service Controller
* Background within a main dealer or busy automotive service department
* Strong leadership skills able to manage and motivate a large team
* Organised, efficient, and able to work under pressure
* Excellent communication across workshop and front-of-house teams
* Professional, proactive, and hands-on approach
* Comfortable managing a workshop of this size and pace
