Teaching Personnel are recruiting a Pastoral Support Worker to join a respected specialist provision in Bolton that supports children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including autistic spectrum conditions (ASC), learning disabilities, complex health needs, significant physical impairments, sensory processing differences, communication needs, and behaviours that some may find challenging.

Key Responsibilities
* Foster positive, trusting relationships through 1:1 and small‑group support, encouraging improved attendance, engagement, and self‑esteem for pupils with a range of complex needs.
* Apply trauma‑informed and autism‑aware approaches, utilising calm de‑escalation, restorative dialogue, and predictable routines to promote emotional safety.
* Support the development and delivery of personalised pastoral plans aligned with EHCP targets, including communication, social skills, regulation, and independence.
* Work collaboratively each day with teachers, therapists (such as occupational therapists, speech and language specialists, and hydrotherapy staff), as well as families, to ensure consistent, coordinated support.
* Keep accurate, detailed records relating to wellbeing, safeguarding, and behaviour; identify and report concerns promptly in accordance with organisational policies.
* Assist pupils during transitions, unstructured parts of the school day, off‑site learning, community activities, and enrichment sessions to ensure safety, engagement, and continuity.

Person Specification
* Full‑time availability is essential.
* Experience supporting young people with SEND/ASC/SEMH in education, youth work, residential or community settings (school or care.
* Calm, compassionate and resilient, with strong boundaries and excellent relationship‑building skills.
* Confident using de‑escalation and restorative approaches; committed to safeguarding and inclusive practice.
* DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply) and suitable references.
