Job Overview The purpose of the role is to work as part of the Central Area Safeguarding Team, providing comprehensive administrative support to the service. The post holder will be responsible for providing effective and efficient clerical and administrative support to a team of professionals. This includes managing the team’s cycle of business ensuring reports are completed and submitted within timescales. The role will involve the coordination and implementation of office procedures and will require a high degree of organisational skills and excellent working knowledge of administrative systems. The post holder will often be the first point of contact and a focal point for the services requiring clear communication and liaison skills. They will be responsible for managing and prioritising their own workload and will be required to use their own initiative. The post holder will be required to work as part of a team at a community base and provide cross cover during periods of staff absence. Person specification Qualifications Essential criteria GCSE English and Maths or equivalent Typing qualification RSA 3 or equivalent ECDL/CLAIT Desirable criteria NVQ level 3 relevant to the role or with equivalent work experience Experience Essential criteria Proficiency in clerical and administrative procedures Proficient in Microsoft Office software Work without supervision Experience of handling confidential information Employee Relations issues Substantial previous experience within an administrative role Skills Essential criteria Excellent and effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Excellent administrative and clerical skills. Excellent organisation and time management skills. Good attention to detail Excellent IT skills Ability to work flexibly / Ability to work to set deadlines Ability to deal with highly confidential and sensitive situations Time-management and project management skills in order to prioritize conflicting workload demands Ability to work on own initiative, and organise own workload effectively Ability to achieve targets and objectives Ability to produce ESR reports Desirable criteria Welsh Speaker Knowledge Essential Criteria I.T. systems Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office (Work, Excel, PowerPoint etc) Personal Qualities Essential Criteria Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Self motivating Able to work alone and as part of a team Hardworking and dedicated Other Essential criteria Able to deal with confidential and sensitive information.
