Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable, hard working cheerful Café Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional service in our very popular and busy café. This job is not suitable for students seeking temporary holiday employment or for anyone still at school.
Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not essential. More important is a willingness to learn, integrity, the ability to listen, the ability to work well with others and excellent communication skills.
The job will require you to work a minimum of 2 days in the week and every other weekend. Start date is negotiable for the successful candidate.
Responsibilities
* Assist in the preparation drinks and serving cakes, ensuring quality and freshness.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the café area, including tables, counters, and equipment.
* Provide excellent customer service by taking orders, serving food and drinks, and addressing customer inquiries.
* Collaborate with team members to ensure consistency and efficient service during busy periods.
* Help manage inventory by restocking supplies as needed and reporting any shortages to the senior team
* Taking orders and payments once familiar with the processes
* Make coffee in line with processes once trained
* Follow all health and safety regulations related to food handling and preparation.
* Follow all café and business processes
Experience
* Previous experience in a restaurant or café setting is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
* Knowledge of food safety practices is desirable.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a team
* A genuine passion for hospitality and providing outstanding customer service.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From £12.21 per hour
Expected hours: 18 – 24 per week
