We are looking for a General Practice Assistant to work 30 hours per week at the East Bridgford Medical Centre.
East Bridgford Medical Practice is a rural practice with 7,900 patients and a highly motivated and experienced team of 3 GP Partners, 3 practice nurses, and 2 HCAs. This is supported by our PCN Clinical Pharmacist, Social Prescriber, Physiotherapists, and a full-time Physician Associate, all backed by an excellent administration team.

The General Practice Assistant (GPA) role combines administrative and clinical duties. The GPA will support clinic operations by performing routine administrative and simple clinical tasks, including clinical observations such as blood pressure and weight, ECGs, phlebotomy, and wound care support.

Job summary:
The GPA role involves a blend of administrative and clinical tasks, working under supervision to support clinic operations and patient care, including arranging appointments, performing clinical observations, supporting immunizations and wound care, preparing patients, completing forms, explaining procedures, liaising with outside agencies, and supporting QOF reviews.
Additional duties include completing clinical observations, supporting with immunizations, wound care, managing laboratory samples, and maintaining clinical environments.
It also involves non-clinical support such as managing patient records, coding, liaising with outside agencies, and administrative tasks like filling forms and supporting QOF reviews.
Additional responsibilities
Main duties include clinical tasks like ECGs, blood pressure, urine testing, wound care, and lab sample management, as well as non-clinical tasks such as managing correspondence, coding, liaising with external agencies, and administrative support for patient recalls and reviews.
