Fire and/or Security Design Engineer
What You Will Do
Design and price fire detection, life safety, or security systems to meet standards such as BS5839-1, MOJ specifications, BS7273, and BS6266. Understanding networking principles is essential for interconnected systems. Designs may use AutoCAD/Revit and other software for complete systems or modifications to existing. You’ll manage technical aspects of design from tender through to installation demonstrating commercial awareness and presenting technology solutions to customers.
How You Will Do It
1. Formulate and present technical Fire, Life Safety, or Security solutions across multiple sites.
2. Showcase technical knowledge and commercial awareness during planning.
3. Navigate ambiguity, meet deadlines, and manage change effectively.
4. Prioritise competing tasks through strategic planning.
5. Embrace new technology and innovation.
6. Work with the on site team through to system hand over

What We Look For
Required
16. Lived in the UK for the past 5 years (security clearance required)
17. Minimum 5 years’ experience in Fire OR Security systems
18. Ability to manage stakeholders at all levels
19. Experience in fast-paced, collaborative environments
20. Excellent communication skills to convey technical info clearly
Beneficial
21. Design experience (AutoCAD, Revit)
22. FIA Advanced Fire Design Certification (support provided)
23. Site experience with surveys and design meetings
24. Knowledge of MOJ, BS7273, BS6266
