Our client is a Leeds-based creative studio with a serious reputation for work that moves. They operate across brand identity, campaign systems, and motion, partnering with clients demand output that lands across every platform. Tight, ambitious, and craft-obsessed.
They are seeking a Motion Design Director to own the discipline from the front, bringing both creative vision and the technical architecture to realise it. You'll shape how motion is conceived, systemised, and delivered across 2D, 3D, and mixed-media, working with major global brands and licensing partners. The person who sets the standard, builds the frameworks, and ensures every frame serves the idea.
Responsibilities:
* Lead and direct motion projects end-to-end, from concept through to delivery across all formats and platforms
* Design motion systems, pipelines, and frameworks that scale across concurrent projects
* Drive conceptual thinking at brief stage, shaping narratives with a keen sense of timing, rhythm, and storytelling
* Lead client presentations and creative workshops with confidence
* Collaborate across design, strategy, and production to embed motion from the start
* Stay ahead of emerging tools and AI-driven workflows, bringing that thinking into the studio
* Manage project flow, flag capacity risks, and maintain quality from pitch to post
Experience sought:
* Motion Direction experience with a portfolio demonstrating creative leadership, technical mastery, and a clear point of view, particularly across FMCG brands
* Proven ability to lead across 2D, 3D, and mixed-media; experience with major brands or licensing partners is a strong signal of fit
* Expert-level After Effects, Cinema 4D, Redshift, and Premiere Pro; confident adopting AI workflows
* Able to build and implement motion systems and pipelines that hold up at scale
* Someone who leads with ideas and follows through with precision, curious, collaborative, and culturally engaged
* Strong presenter and collaborator across teams and client rooms
