Here at SuperCare, we are on a search for an experienced enthusiastic and driven Children's Coach to join our Ofsted Regulated LD Children's Home in Croydon. We strive to encourage and motivate children, young people and young adults to develop and enhance life skills. We participate in a range of leisure activities, educational interests and social opportunities which offer positive challenges within a safe and structured environment.\n\nDaily responsibilities:\n\nTo support and meet the needs of the young people in our care and for the direct allocated support on a waking night shift.\nTo help young people take responsibility for themselves and to act responsibly towards others; in accordance with the Children Act 1989.\nMaking sure health and safety standards in the home are being met and that you are keeping on top of the upkeep of the home.\nAdministrative work and keeping a record information that impacts the daily running of the home.\nTo ensure that young people carry as much responsibility for their own lives as they can, keeping them informed of their circumstances and rights, involving them in planning their lives, supporting them and helping them towards taking greater control and responsibility\nHousehold Responsibilities:\n\nEnsuring the young people are looked after at night safely and securely\nTo ensure that the maintenance of the house is at a good standard by caring for all equipment and the overall environment.
\nTo be accountable for moneys that have been allocated and spent for specific reasons.\nEnsuring health and safety checks are complete in line with policies and Ofsted regulations and standards.\nWhat are we looking for?\n\nYou will need to be willing to develop skills, knowledge and experience, in accordance with a personal development plan.\nYou will be kind caring and compassionate to accommodate for all of the young people's needs.\nYou will have experience in working with children who display challenging behaviour. (For example, severe autism and ADHD)\nYou will be Resilient and be able to manage all challenges in a caring way.\n You will have completed your Level 3 NVQ in Children's Residential Care and/or hold an equivalent qualification.\nEnhanced DBS Check or be subject to one should you be successful.\nThis job description outlines the general ways in which it is expected you will meet the overall requirements of the post.
