An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Ward Manager to lead and aspire at The Haldon, the South West regional tier-4 Specialist Inpatient Eating Disorder Unit based in Wonford House, Exeter.
The Haldon is commissioned to provide intensive inpatient treatment for up to 10 individuals at one time. Treatment includes both physical and psychological interventions to support recovery from a severe Eating Disorder in a caring and compassionate environment.
The role will include the operational running of a busy inpatient ward, which has a vast MDT alongside nursing staff. Liaising with commissioners and overseeing extensive training and development of the staffing team.
We are looking for an individual who is motivated, passionate, and interested in development within their own career. The successful candidate will be able to lead and organise a team.
Experience in Eating Disorders is Essential.
Main duties of the job
* To provide leadership and management to the ward and clinical team.
* To provide evidence-based professional support and advice to the MDT.
* To lead and promote education and staff development for the continued professional growth of the team members and students.
* To ensure the delivery of high standards of nursing care in accordance with evidence-based professional practice, policies, and procedures.
* Ensure legislation, policies, and procedures are implemented, and staff have access to these and understand their use.
* Manage allocated budget, ensuring resources are efficiently and effectively used and maintained.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered as a Mental Health Nurse with the NMC and hold a Nursing Pin.
* Relevant Degree or Diploma in Nursing.
Experience
* Experience working with individuals with Eating Disorders and a clinical understanding of treatment in a Specialist Eating Disorder Unit.
* Management or leadership experience.
* Experience supervising and supporting staff.
