Looking for a role that offers variety, flexibility, and a great work-life balance? As a Catering Assistant working across schools in the West Lancashire area, you’ll enjoy term-time only hours, with no evening, weekend, or school holiday shifts – perfect for fitting around your lifestyle.
This is a temporary, part-time position, covering sickness, with a guaranteed 16.25 hours per week, and you’ll be providing essential cover across multiple school sites. Because of the travel involved, a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential.
In this role, you will:
1. Support various school kitchens by preparing, cooking, and serving healthy, balanced meals
2. Help set up and clear down the dining area, including moving and arranging furniture
3. Maintain high standards of cleanliness in all catering areas and equipment
We’d love to hear from you if you:
4. Are a team player with a positive attitude
5. Have great customer service skills
6. Can adapt quickly to different environments
7. Have experience in catering or food preparation (preferred but not essential)
8. Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a car
Working Hours:
9. Monday to Friday – 4 hours per day
10. 20 hours per week – term time only
11. Travel across the West Lancashire area required (mileage allowance may apply)
12. Fixed term until 24th July 2026
