Marketing and Communications Assistant (4 months)

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Marketing and Communications Assistant to join one of the area’s most prestigious employers. The role is on a 4-month temporary basis, working Monday to Friday 8.30am–5pm / 9am-5.30pm / 8am-4.30pm.
As part of the wider team, the Marketing and Communications Assistant will support the delivery of the communication strategy for the business. You will deliver and co-ordinate the communication plan, both internally and externally, to promote the brand and build relationships with stakeholders. The Marketing and Communications Assistant will be responsible for creating and distributing content, managing media relations, and delivering a range of communication plans.
Key responsibilities:-
* Ensuring consistent messaging and promoting the organisation's brand identity
* Content creation for all marketing channels
* Supervising projects to make sure all content is publication-ready
* Co-ordinate and manage annual communications plan
* Manage the website, including copy updates, liaison with designers / developers and reporting of analytical data
* Preparation, production and distribution of all publicity material and collateral - writing, editing, liaising with key staff and proofing all copy
* Improve and increase content on the group’s social media platforms
* Create and distribute press releases, email newsletters, blogs and more
* Create and manage marketing campaigns for internal stakeholders.
* Managing media enquiries, drafting press releases and building relationships with journalists
Experience and skills required:-
* At least 3 years’ experience within Marketing, Communications or PR
* Experience with Search Engine Optimisation
* Be a creative individual with a keen eye for detail
* Work well within a team and using your own initiative
* Thrive working well to deadlines
* Be interested in keeping up to date with the latest social media sites, trends and technologies
* Be confident and friendly and able to communicate with employees and customers at all levels
* Have strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and multitask
* Have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
* Be a flexible person ready to turn your hand to a wide range of tasks
* Experience of software packages, including Square Space, would be preferred
* Due to the rural location, you will need to have your own transport
* The successful candidate must be able to pass a DBS check
