A well-established precision engineering and manufacturing business is looking to recruit an experienced Quality Engineer to support ongoing growth and high-quality manufacturing operations.

This is a hands‑on role focused on manufacturing quality, customer liaison, inspection processes, and continuous improvement within a modern machining environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with production, customers, and suppliers to ensure quality standards are maintained across complex machined components and assemblies.
The Role
* Manage day‑to‑day manufacturing quality activities and support production teams
* Interpret engineering drawings and determine appropriate inspection methods
* Produce inspection reports and customer quality documentation
* Investigate non‑conformances and customer complaints using 8D/5 Why methodologies
* Support internal, supplier, and process audits
* Liaise directly with customers and suppliers regarding quality‑related matters
* Assist with calibration systems and inspection equipment management
* Create quality control plans and manufacturing quality instructions
* Train operators on inspection methods and measurement equipment
* Support continuous improvement initiatives across quality and manufacturing processes
About You
* Previous experience as a Quality Engineer within precision engineering or manufacturing
* Strong understanding of inspection techniques and engineering drawings
* Experience working within ISO 9001 or similar quality systems
* Good communication and problem‑solving skills
* Mechanical engineering background or apprenticeship preferred
* Experience with CMM programming and PC‑DMIS would be highly advantageous
Desirable Experience
* CMM programming (Hexagon / PC‑DMIS)
* Internal or supplier auditing
* Aerospace, defence, oil & gas, or high‑specification manufacturing environments
* Quality documentation and customer reporting packs
